Modern art field of sunflowers abstract paintings - week # 52

This week I was able to complete this landscape with sunflowers, painted entirely with palette knife, applying layer after layer of oil paint on a 22" x 22" stretched canvas.

Then I finished another piece for the "Under the sea" series. The technique on this painting was blending + dripping with acrylics, after it was completed and pictures were taken I applied a semi-gloss varnish for protection and a gloss finish.

I hope this holiday season find you with the company of those you love!

Until next week ...
Greetings,

Monica.

These pieces are the latest work for these past 2 weeks.
The first one is a painting from year 2008 revisited and completed in December 2010. Thick texture on flowers, painted using palette knives.
The second one is a collage on masonite board. It has Autumn leaves, little tree branches, mostly from the Oak and Pecan trees in my backyard. Painted with acrylics and varnished after finished.
The third piece belongs to the poppies' series, acrylic on canvas, wet look on flowers, textured, worked with palette knife.
Enjoy!

Poppies art, abstraction, self portrait Monica Fallini - Week 49

Today I'm posting 2 poppies' paintings along with an abstract piece and a work in progress of my first self-portrait.

I consider the self-portrait as a point of inflection in my career as an artist for 2 reasons:
1- The first time I have the intention of doing a study of myself.
2- It is not the style I've been using to do other portraits of other people.

This is a totally new aproach, I would say more oriented to abstract expressionism.
It is a work in progress but I'm willing to sell it at any point of the process if the right buyer comes.
Have a great weekend.
As always thank you for your support.
